Kareri Lake is a pristine freshwater lake situated at an altitude of approximately 2,934 meters (9,626 feet) in the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas. Surrounded by dense pine forests and alpine meadows, this trek offers breathtaking views of snow-clad peaks, serene landscapes, and a crystal-clear lake formed by the melting snow of the Dhauladhar range. The trek to Kareri Lake is moderately challenging, making it an ideal destination for both beginners and experienced trekkers.
Pick-up from Dharamshala in the morning in a private vehicle. Scenic drive of approximately 2 hours (22 km) to Kareri Village, the base camp for the trek. Check-in at a homestay/camp in Kareri village and freshen up. After lunch, explore the nearby village, interact with the locals, and understand the culture of the Gaddi tribe. Evening briefing by the trek leader regarding the upcoming trek. Enjoy a wholesome vegetarian dinner and overnight stay at the camp in Kareri Village. Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Stop for packed lunch en route and enjoy the serene atmosphere. Reach Kareri Lake by afternoon and witness the mesmerizing views of the surrounding mountains. Explore the nearby areas, visit the Shiva Temple near the lake, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Set up camp by the lakeside and relish a hot dinner under the stars. Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the mountains. Enjoy a hot breakfast by the lake and prepare for the descent. Begin the return trek to Kareri Village (5-6 hours). Reach Kareri Village by afternoon and have lunch at the base camp. After lunch, drive back to Dharamshala (2 hours). Drop-off at Dharamshala by evening, marking the end of the trek.
